Who We Are: A Static Lullaby, Chino Hills Post-Hardcore Since 2001
If you've ever screamed along to "Withered" or "A Song for a Broken Heart", you already know where we're coming from. Here's a quick guide to who we are and where our sound came from, for new listeners and old ones.
Where are we from?
We formed in 2001 in Chino Hills, California. A high school jam session went so well that we left our other bands to start this one, and we played our first show two weeks later.
Who is in the band?
The first line-up was Joe Brown on vocals, Dan Arnold on guitar and clean vocals, Phil Pirrone on bass and vocals, Nate Lindeman on guitar and Brett Dinovo on drums. Joe Brown and Dan Arnold have been there through every era. Today we play with Kris Comeaux on drums, Kyler Gillam on bass and Nicholas Jones on lead guitar.
What do we sound like?
We play post-hardcore: screamed and sung vocals trading places over emotional, driving guitars. Early on we toured with bands like AFI, My Chemical Romance and Brand New.
